A TICKET FOR DRIVING WITHOUT INSURANCE COULD COST YOU $1000.00 AND A LICENSE SUSPENSION
A conviction for driving without insurance or proof of other financial responsibility will result in a surcharge to you of $260.00 per year for three years to keep your license. This is in addition to any fine and court costs paid at the courthouse. Basically, on a no insurance conviction, your looking at $750.00 in surcharges plus fine and court costs which will roughly, in the end, add up to $1000.00 or more for the one insurance violation. A subsequent conviction will result in a license suspension plus the fine, court costs and surcharges.
NO DRIVERíS LICENSE
A conviction for no valid drivers license will result in a fine plus court costs and will trigger a $100.00 per year surcharge for three years.
DRIVING WHILE LICENSE INVALID
A conviction for driving while license invalid will result in a fine plus court costs and will trigger a $250.00 per year surcharge for three years.
DRIVERS LICENSE RESTRICTION VIOLATIONS
Two convictions for a restriction violation will trigger a license suspension.
LICENSE SUSPENSION HEARINGS
If you receive a notice of Drivers License Suspension, you only have a certain amount of time to request a hearing or else you waive your right to a hearing and your license will be suspended.
